NASCAR

Derrick, his Dad and some friends went to the NASCAR race at
Phoenix International Raceway with outstanding tickets. They
got a guided tour of Pit Road, got into the Courtesy tent, have a
meet and greet with Denny Hamlin, have free lunch and dinner,
plus got lots of free stuff. I guess that's a perk working for
FedEx Ground. They did drive all night to get there and
turned around after the race to drive home. I don't know how
Derrick can do that with no sleep. It was a good race and some
quality time spent with his Dad.
While he was gone, I spent time with Mom and went shopping.
Of course, something bad had to happen- so our basement flooded.

The FedEx Ground car was delivered to the Salt Lake
facility.

Mesquite 2009

Last April, Derrick went to the Jackson Hole Hill Climbs with
the boys and left me with the kiddo's. (Thanks again Emily and Jim
for your super, oh so convenient.. condo.) So spur of the moment
I drove the kids to Mesquite to see Grandma and Grandpa.
Grandma didn't know we were coming so it was a BIG surprise.
There was snow on the ground here and we had spring fever like
you wouldn't believe. Luckily, we made it-or should I say the kids
were lucky they made it. Megan has never been in her car seat that
long and Cage asked at least 1,000 times if "we there yet?" It took
us seven hours to get there. Why, you ask? Megan..... she peed like
ten times. I don't know if it was just her way of tricking me to get
her out of the car, but it was a little ridicules. We did finally make it
and had a great time with Grandma. Of course, the kids loved the
swimming. It was a short weekend, but nice to see my mom. And
feel like we got a little piece of summer. I wont even go into the
drive home, because the DVD player was broken, the computer
had no battery, I ran out of gas, of course the pee thing, and Megs
only napped for a half hour. I guess we wont be doing that again
anytime soon.
I'm still recovering.

Snakes, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails.....

Happy 8th Birthday Cage!!

What I have learned from my Son.

1. If you hear the toilet flush followed by "uh oh",
it's already to late.
2. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
3. If a little boy asks you to smell his fingers, don't!
4. Little boys like to stick their fingers in their bums.
5. Frogs do not like washing machines.
6. Dogs wont land on their feet if thrown from a balcony.
7. Some Lego's will pass through the digestive track
of a 3-year old.
8. A two year old has the strength to hang on to the
garage
door while it is opening.
9. Vacuums can suck up Earthworms.
10. It is really hard to clean a vacuum with Earthworms in it.
11. A two year old is capable of kicking out the screen on a
window to climb on the roof.
12. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke. Lots!
13. Ceiling fans will not hold a 35 pound boy in a
Super Man costume.

14. Hiding a mouse in the heating vent isn't a real good idea.
15. Riding a bike with a cape on can choke you.

I scrub the wall of fingerprints,
Pick up the mounds of clothes.
I sweep the dirt that shoes track in-
Wish I could use a hose!

Meals are served from dawn to dark,
Dirty dishes crowd the sink.
Just when they're washed and put away-
Everyone wants a drink!

The washer pulls the dirty grime
From pants worn thin and patched.
They look so very neat and clean-
Yuck, look what the pockets hatched!

Broken bones and bloody knees,
I should have been a nurse.
I take it all in shaky stride-
Just grateful it's not worse!

Screams and shouts and arguments
Test the keeping of my cool.
They left the neighbor's faucet on-
See their new front yard pool!

A soothing bath is ecstasy,
A reward at the end of my rope.
Raising boys isn't really bad-
But first I must wash the soap!

A rose can say I Love You,
Orchids can enthrall;
But a weed bouquet in a chubby fist,
Oh my, that says it all!

We love you Buddy, Happy Birthday.

Rascal Flats concert Feb 09

I know this was awhile ago, but Deb and I got free tickets with really great seats to go to the Rascal Flats concert. (Thanks for the hook-up honey.) Neither one of us is a real fan, but we just had to see if Jessica Simpson was really fat. She was opening for them. And she's not. Needless to say we had tons of fun.

Bear Lake 2009

We went with Jeff, Renee, and their friends to their cabin in Bear Lake in February. We drove to the top of Monte and rode our snowmobiles to the cabin. It took about 4 hours, but that is because we couldn't resist stopping to play. Luckily we arrived safely with only some minor set backs, like losing keys, sunglasses, and a cell phone (Mike). Not to mention Jeff's near death avalanche. Just kidding. It wasn't too serious, but serious enough to get hurt. We did learn over the weekend that Jeff has 9 lives. We think he's on about 7, so good luck Jeff.
When we arrived we shared stories and had some great hamburgers. We played some games and everyone found out just how smart I (Robin) really am (Thomas Jefferson).
Jeff made a kickin' breakfast Saturday, so after we gorged ourselves we rode around the sinks. What a fun place to ride and play. The snow conditions were perfect and with the great company it made for an excellent day. After another night of fun at the cabin we rode back to our cars left on Monte. Derrick's snowmobile broke down just as we got back. Crappy, but at least he was only towed a mile or so. Thanks for the lift Mike.
Thank you Jeff and Renee for the invite and hospitality. We regret not taking you up on the invite the last couple years. Everyone was so great and fun to be around. It was nice meeting you, Mark, Leslie, Mike, Stacy, Kim, and Karen. Next year Derrick and i get dibs on the second shower!! LOL!

A day in the snow!

A great day snowmobiling at Franklin Basin with 3ft of
fresh powder. Derrick took the day off work to enjoy his
favorite sport with some friends. He is an amazing rider
and makes it look so easy.
Not to mention the fact that he looks so hot in his
snowmobile gear.

Taking the boys snowmobiling.
